Margaret Anderson, 85, of Bessemer passed away on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at the Jameson Care Center in New Castle.

Margaret was born on April 20, 1931, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Alfred and Josephine Venezio Verzilli.

She was the beloved wife of the late Carl Anderson, loving mother to Rick A. Anderson of Longmont, Colorado, and Rodney L. Anderson, Rian T. Anderson and Rex D. Anderson, all of Edinburg. Margaret was also honored to have been grandmother to 10 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to nine. She was also a sister to Alfred Verzilli of New Castle.

Margaret was a graduate of New Castle High and was a long-standing and active member of the Bessemer First Covenant Church.

Her family was her world and her sons are blessed to have been gifted with such a mom.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl; two brothers; a sister; and sadly, two grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St., Bessemer.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Covenant Church in Bessemer with the Rev. John Yergan officiating.

Margaret will be laid to rest next to her husband, Carl, in the First Covenant Cemetery.
