Marian Ruth Baker, 88, of Franklin Township passed away at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Born in Durham, North Carolina, on Nov. 21, 1933, Marian was the daughter of the late, Earl Russell and Lilly Mae Collier Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Baker, on May 2, 1999. They were married on June 7, 1952.

Marian had retired in 2006 after working 18 years as an aide at the Passavant Health Care Center in Zelienople.

Marian was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her life revolved around her family.

Surviving are her seven children, Cynthia and Kevin Langer of Wexford, Carol and Tom Shoaf of Ellwood City, Ernest Chris and Lenora Baker of Dallas, Texas, James E. Baker of Cranberry Township, Jennifer Lynn Baker of Ellwood City, John Alan and Tammi Baker of Koppel and Elizabeth and Chris Pfau of Ellwood City; a sister, Elizabeth Garrison of Charlottesville, Virginia; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, Marian was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Russell Brown, Robert Joseph Brown and William Lewis Brown; and two sisters, Juanita Cross and Helen Joyner.

Friends will be received at the Joseph A. Tomon Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Ave., Ellport, on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 1 p.m. until the time of her funeral service at 3 p.m.
