Mariann L. Manzo, 95, of New Castle passed away the morning of April 12, 2025, at Quality Life Service of New Castle.

Mariann was born Jan. 23, 1930, in New Castle to the late William and Susan (Vargo) Gibson.

She married her beloved husband, John J. Manzo Sr. on Oct. 28, 1950. He preceded her in death April 19, 1988.

Mariann was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time outdoors and time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

Mariann is survived by her son, John J. Manzo, Jr. (Chris); daughters, Susan Dzemyan (Dan) and Maureen Maier; brother, George W. Gibson (Karin), grandchildren, Jason Maier (Jamie), Julie Cook (Jeremy), Melissa Maiella (Dwayne), Matthew Manzo (Jess), Erin Bigham (Frits), Justine Dear (Trevin) and Danielle Rohal (Alex); and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mariann was preceded in death by her infant daughter; sister, Ellen Warner; and son-in-law, Jeffrey C. Maier.

The family extends its appreciation and thanks to Quality Life Services staff and hospice team for all the love and care they provided.

Visitation will was 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Interment will be at St. Vitus Cemetery.
