Marlene M. Thies, 79, of New Castle passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at her residence of 14 years.

She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

She was born to the late William and Phyllis Thies in Detroit, Michigan, on April 11, 1937. Marlene graduated from Cooley High School in 1955 and worked at Standard Accident Insurance Company. Miss Thies is survived by her brothers William (Nancy) and Phillip (Patricia), and her sister Linda Domanski (Robert), by four cousins, and seven nieces and nephews, as well as twelve grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her twin brother, Martin Carl; and her parents. Visitation will be Wednesday May 11th from 10-11:00 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home in Slippery Rock, with a noon funeral service at All Saint's Lutheran Church officiated by Reverend Larry K. Loree, Jr. Interment will be at Woodmere Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on May 13th in Detroit, MI. Donations may be made to the building fund at All Saints Lutheran, 351 So.
