New Wilmington - Marlene Lee Williams, formerly of Wynfield Commons, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, passed away Dec. 29, 2025, at UPMC Horizon Hospital. She was 89 years old.

She was born Jan. 25, 1936, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, to the late Robert E. and Eleanor Lee.

She married Clair LeRoy Williams on Oct. 28, 1955. He preceded her in death July 1, 2024.

Marlene was involved in the New Wilmington community as a Wilmington High School graduate, crossing guard and part-time police officer for the borough. Her parents owned and operated Isaly's in New Wilmington, and Marlene helped in the operation of the store.

Survivors include two sons, Richard C. Williams of Loveland, Ohio, and Shawn (Krista) Williams of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren complete the family.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her twin sister, Marilyn Matchak; and a son, Jeffrey Williams.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2026, until the funeral service at 4 p.m. at The Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, PA. Pastor Rebeca Rosengarth will officiate. Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
