Martin Anderson Obituary

Martin Wells Anderson, 73, of Harrisville, formerly of Seneca, Pennsylvania, passed away July 8, 2023, at the Autumn Grove Care Center in Harrisville.

Born March 10, 1950, in Greensburg, Martin was the son of the late Joseph G. Anderson Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Wells Anderson.

Martin graduated from Laurel High School in New Castle, then continued his education at the Venango County Vo-Tech for nursing.

He worked at Polk Center as an LPN for over 20 years.

Along with his wife, he was a member of the Carousel Organs of America, the Schubert Musical Club of Oil City, the Venango Chorus and was the organist for several local churches. Martin was a member of FFA and performed in the FFA Chorus in Kansas City, Kansas.

Martin loved his dogs and cats.

On April 29, 1972, Martin married Mary Jane McConahy.

Martin is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; daughter, Rebecca (Gordon) Marquette; sister-in-law Edith Anderson; brother, Jeffery (Sandy) Anderson; brother-in-law, William Joseph; sister, Patricia (Lawrence) DeGennaro; sister-in-law, Laurie Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Martin was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph G. Anderson III and Edward Anderson; and a sister, Ruth Joseph.

The family would like to thank the staff of Autumn Grove Care Center for providing such excellent care.

Private services were held by the family. Interment was held at the Harmony Cemetery in Harrisville. A memorial service is being planned for this fall and will be announced at a later date.
