Mary Daugherty Andrews, 91, of Whispering Oaks Care Center, Sharon, a former longtime resident of Jackson Knolls in Mount Jackson, passed away at 8:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006, in Sharon Regional Hospital. She was born Monday, Oct. 12, 1914, in Mahoningtown, a daughter of the late Jerome and Carrie Miller Daugherty. She was a graduate of the former North Beaver Township High School and the New Castle Business School. She married W. Ralph Andrews on June 28, 1938. He preceded her in death. She enjoyed many things, but her family was her life. Mrs. Andrews was a longtime member of Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and elder. Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tom and Leslie Andrews of Mount Jackson, Bruce and Liz Andrews of Palmyra, Pa., and Ken Andrews of Glenshaw, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jim Bestwick of Sharon; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jerome Daugherty, Mark Daugherty, Kenneth Daugherty and Seth Daugherty. Visitation is 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home, 203 Oak St., Bessemer. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Patrick Ewing of the church will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Jackson Presbyterian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Jackson Presbyterian Church.
