Mary E. (Gunther) Yeager, 92, of 3102 Ellwood Road, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 30, 2020, at the Carriage Manor.

Mary was born July 28, 1928, at New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Ted and Anna (Natvig) Lach.

She was married to the late Henry J. Gunther. He preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1982. She then married Fred Yeager. He also preceded her in death on May 1, 2014.

She was of the Lutheran faith and attended Christ Lutheran Church. Mary was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1946.

Mrs. Yeager retired after 19 years of service in the kitchen design and paint departments of the former Stambaugh Thompson store.

Mary enjoyed baking for her family and taking long walks. Mary was an avid swimmer for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Mary is survived by three children, Tom E. (Betsy) Gunther of Washington, Pennsylvania, Betsy J. Mora of New Castle and Wayne D. (Jeanann) Gunther of New Castle; two brothers, Harold (Grace) Natvig of New Castle and George (Isabell) Natvig of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Becky Smith of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Mary was preceded in death by two children, Ralph and Emily Gunther; a brother, Ted Lach; and a sister, Karen Sabino.

Private family visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Noga Funeral Home, 1142 S. Mill St.

A private funeral service will be conducted immediately following visitation in the funeral home. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
