Washington Towmship - Mary Catherine "Mickey" McConnell of Washington Township, passed away May 22, 2026. She was 93 years old.

She was born April 10, 1933, to Patrick John Callahan and Catherine Geibel Callahan.

Mary married Harold "Lefty" McConnell on Sept. 11, 1954.

She attended St. Mary's Church, Holy Spirit Parish.

She worked as an operator and in accounting at Bell Telephone, as well as record keeping for the family farm.

Mary enjoyed serving as a clerk and judge of elections. She also enjoyed crafts and exercising with her friends at TOPS.

Mary had a natural talent for gardening, flowers and keeping a beautiful yard.

She is survived by two sons, Gregory H. McConnell of Volant, Pennsylvania, and Randall Lee (Marie) McConnell of Poland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Emily and Katie (Steve) McConnell; sister, Peg (Eugene) Scala of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Beverly McConnell of Volant, Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Jack, Leo, Pat and Jim Callahan; as well as sister, Rose Carlisle.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2006, until the time of the 1 p.m. service at Smith Funeral Home 1778 Perry Highway, (Village of Leesburg) Volant, Pennsylvania. Officiating will be Deacon John Carran. Interment will be at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.
