Hubbard, Ohio - Mary Louise Scopacasa, age 86, of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Mary was born Dec. 3, 1939, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Charles E. and Elizabeth M. Stoffick Forney.

She graduated from New Castle High School, later graduated from Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Beaver, Pennsylvania, and Mercy Hospital of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Mary was a certified registered nurse anesthetist and a registered nurse for many years.

She was a member of Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Her husband, Vincent A. Scopacasa, whom she married Feb. 23, 1968, passed away July 21, 2018.

Mary will be sadly missed by her daughter, Dr. Deborah Scopacasa of Hubbard, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Susan; sisters, Patricia Blazic and Betty Ann Leunis; and brother-in-law, Frederick Leunis.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2026, with a Cursillo Bible Vigil following at 8 p.m., and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday May 29, 2026, at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

There will be a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Friday May 29, 2026, at Saint Patrick Roman Catholic Church with The Very Reverend Michael D. Balash officiating.

Mary will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Vincent, at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Hubbard.
