Matthew W. Ferrante, 59, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at Edison Manor following a year-long battle with ALS.

Born on Aug. 13, 1961, in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Lou Lembo Ferrante.

Matt was a graduate of Lincoln High School and worked as a landscaper.

He enjoyed reading.

Survivors include longtime girlfriend, Paige Yarzebinski and her two sons, Chucky and Ryan; two sisters, Valarie Viccari of Ellwood City and Lu Ann (Jeff) Myers of New Kensington; two brothers, Nicholas (Linda Guthrie) Ferrante of West Pittsburg and Anthony (Stacey Ierino) Ferrante of Ellwood City; two nephews; and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Reyna Lee Ferrante.

Visiting hours will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, 2021, at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City. His brother in law, Jeff Myers, will officiate.

Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association.
