Medford Allen Obituary
Neshannock Township - Medford Allen, 87, of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of October 25, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on November 14, 1928 in Piedmont, WV. Medford was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Washington, mother, Myrtle Spillard Allen, and stepfather, Earl W. Allen. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Melinda Bell.
Medford had worked as an electrician for Johnson Bronze and Crane Co. He later retired from the maintenance department for the YDC. He also had served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He loved doing electrical work and listening to music. An avid sports fan, Medford played baseball in his earlier years.
In addition to his wife, Medford is survived by his daughter, Jessica Allen of New Castle, brother, Donald Allen of Indianapolis, IN, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven and James Allen, and sisters, Carmelia Long, Patricia Guess, and Estella Gregory.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00am to 11:00am at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Elder Clarence Tucker of St. John United Holy Church. Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
