New Castle, PA - Michael P. Rihel Jr., 32, of New Castle passed away the morning of Jan. 10, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Michael was born Jan. 15, 1993, to Michael P. Rihel Sr. and Shannon Westerman. They survive at home.

Michael graduated from Knoch High School and Butler Vo-Tech with a specialty in graphic design.

He was very creative and enjoyed music and skateboarding. He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and fishing with friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Mason Rihel; brothers, Zacherie Westerman, Brandon Shoaf and Ronny Ciecil; paternal grandfather, Lawrence Rihel Sr.; maternal grandparents, Bruce and Cindy Lambert; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Violet Rihel. Family will receive visitors from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St., immediately followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Joe Lahr of Cornerstone Community Church.
