Mildred Louise Chrzanowski (Millie) Obituary

Mildred (Millie) Louise Shaw Chrzanowski, 73, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Dec. 6, 2020, at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy, Pennsylvania.

Millie was born in New Castle on Oct. 31, 1947.

She graduated from Wilmington Area High School, class of 1965, and went on to earn her nursing degree at Women's Medical College in Philadelphia.

After working in pediatric practice for a few years, she went back and received a nurse practitioner degree in pediatrics from Gwynedd Mercy College.

She was a dedicated, caring professional who loved working with the children. And they loved her.

She later left nursing to work with her husband in their construction company, but continued using her nursing skills to help anyone in need. She was an angel of compassion and caring.

Millie was a loving and devoted wife to her soul mate for 51 years. She loved to cook, entertain and travel, particularly if the destination took her to the beach and ocean.

She loved animals, especially her cats, and was affectionately known as "Cat Lady."

She was the daughter of the late James R. Shaw and E. Gabrielle (Gay) Rodgers Shaw.

She is survived by her husband, John Chrzanowski; sister, Dottie Shaw Kultan of Volant; niece, Natissa Kultan Pfautz and her husband, Scott, of Downingtown; and numerous beloved cousins.

The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Jefferson Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Powerback Rehab, Parkesburg Family Practice and Hospice and Community Care for their love, support and dedication to Millie's care.

Due to the current pandemic, services will be privately held at Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, Slippery Rock on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, with the Rev. Dr. Stanley Keehlwetter presiding.

Interment will follow in South Plain Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Sunshine Foundation, or any of the many deserving charities dedicated to the fight against cancer.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home of Slippery Rock.
