Neshannock Township - Nancy E. Black of Neshannock Township, Lawrence County, passed away July 28, 2025, in New Castle. She was 85 years old.

She was born Dec. 27, 1939, in Wilmington Township, to the late Edwin and Mabel Wright Edmiston.

She married Richard E. Black on June 30, 1961. He survives at the residence.

Nancy enjoyed quilting, knitting, embroidery, puzzles of all kinds, birdwatching and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

She was a member of the Keystone Chapter of the Embroiders Guild of America and the Shenango Valley Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, and especially enjoyed traveling to car shows with her husband in their antique car.

They attended Neshannock Presbyterian Church of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

Nancy also served for more than 40 years as an election officer in Neshannock Township.

Survivors in addition to her husband include two daughters, Stacy (Gary) Buchowski of Volant and Beverly (Keith Eshbaugh) Black of New Wilmington; one son, Steven (Doris) Black of Edmonds, Washington; four special grandchildren, Zachary Buchowski, Lydia Dean, Fiona Black and Nathaniel Black; three sisters, Margaret Rock, Norma Jeri Lewis and Alice Heasley; and two brothers, Gary Edmiston and Paul (Sharonn) Edmiston.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at The Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave. New Wilmington, PA, followed by a memorial service for family. The Rev. Dr. Howard Gaston will officiate. Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania.

Memorials may be given to Susan G. Komen Foundation. Nancy was a breast cancer survivor.
