Olive Ida Ball, 81, formerly of Phillips Street, died Friday, May 3, 2019, at Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle. She was born on June 5, 1937, in Burghill, Ohio, a daughter of the late Ray and Goldie (Sweigert) Bartholomew. She was married to the late Elmer M. Ball, who died June 23, 1976.

Mrs. Ball was a nurses aid at Golden Hill Nursing Home for a number of years and she enjoyed going to garage and yard sales.

She is survived by two sons, Greg R. Ball of New Castle and Christopher K. Ball and his wife, Lori, of New Castle; one brother, Ray Bartholomew of Holiday, Florida; one sister, Mildred Livingston of New Castle; one granddaughter, Jamie Redman; and two great grandchildren, Natalie and Gabriel Redman.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Carl, and Roy Bartholomew; and four sisters, Minerva Durkey, Arvilla Heden, Ethel Stevens, and Donna Broadwater.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. John Patrick Fraser will be officiating.
