New Castle - Patricia Louise Altieri, 73, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025.

She was born April 1, 1952, daughter of the late Harry Kerner and Georgette (Reynier) Kerner of Lawrence, Pennsylvania.

Patty graduated from Cannon McMillan High School.

On Oct. 20, she married her husband of 48 years, Richard Altieri. They lived in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, before settling down in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Patricia began her professional career with People's Insurance, later joining Tommelleo and Associates, where she served as an insurance specialist.

Her faith was the foundation of her life, reflected in her deep involvement with her church. She generously gave her time and talents as a member of the Parish Executive Board, the Blessed Sacrament Society and the Parish Mission and Evangelism Ministry, and she devoted more than 35 years to teaching in the School of Christian Living.

Patricia also found joy at home, where her garden flourished, her home radiated warmth, and family and loved ones always felt welcome.

Surviving is her daughter, Jennifer Altieri-Nilvo of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and son, Ashley Altieri of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Gianna Nilvo, Gino Nilvo, Sara Altieri, Lily Altieri and Paul DeLange.

Patty was preceded in death by her husband and her father.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, at Holy Trinity Parish PNCC located at 1702 S. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA, followed by a reception in the church hall.

Internment will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies located at 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA.
