Pauline Elizabeth Martin Obituary

On June 25, 2022, Pauline Elizabeth Martin of Mesa, Arizona, was called home to God.

Pauline was born nearly 101 years ago in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from New Castle High School and following World War II, she married John B. (Jack) Martin of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.

In her early years, Pauline worked as a telephone switchboard operator, and then for more than 40 years with the Pennsylvania State Employment Bureau, where she retired at age 72.

Pauline was a devoted member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City, and more recently, Red Mountain United Methodist Church in Mesa, Arizona.

She had a passion for the Meals on Wheels programs and for supporting youth.

In her earlier life, she was an enthusiastic and very good bowler. A perfect day for Pauline was an early, long and brisk walk, visits with friends, snuggling her granddogs and celebrating Happy Hour with a glass of wine.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Paul Burrows and Hazel Keelen Burrows; and her husband, Jack.

She is survived by her son, Paul Martin and daughter-in-law, Lynn Martin.

A Committal Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, in the Chapel at Castle View Memorial Gardens, New Castle.

Local arrangements entrusted to the Marshall Funeral Home, Ellwood City.

Gifts in her memory may be made to Calvin United Presbyterian Church, 615 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, Pa., 16117; or Suncrest Hospice, 4650 E Cotton Center Blvd., Suite 250, Phoenix, AZ 85040.
