Raymond E. Frankoski Obituary

Clearwater, FL - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Frankoski, 89, on April 20, 2026, just two weeks shy of his 90th birthday.

Raymond was born May 4, 1936, in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He grew up surrounded by a loving family, many friends and a strong Catholic faith.

After graduating from New Castle High School, Raymond joined the United States Navy, where he trained and served from 1955 to 1958 as a Navy frogman, a predecessor to the modern-day Navy SEALs.

Following his honorable discharge, Raymond earned an associate degree from New Castle Business College before pursuing a lifelong career in law enforcement.

Raymond served with the Pennsylvania State Police before moving to Florida in 1981. He became a police officer at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, where he was eventually promoted to chief of police.

Well respected by his colleagues, Raymond demonstrated a strong work ethic reflected in his vigilance, attention to detail, dependability and punctuality. Known for being reliable and steadfast, he was often handpicked for protection assignments throughout his law enforcement career and was repeatedly entrusted with providing security for government officials, multiple presidents, royalty and members of the entertainment industry. Oh, the stories he could tell!

Raymond lived a very active life and never outgrew his love of the water. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, waterskiing and swimming. He took great pride in continuing to kickbox well into his 80s. Raymond also had a lifelong passion for travel and adventure, taking as much pleasure in planning a trip as in the trip itself.

He deeply valued his many childhood friendships and returned to his hometown whenever he could. His calm and capable presence, along with his sense of humor, will truly be missed.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie Frankoski (Ludwiczak); his father, Joseph Frankoski; his sister, Rose Marie Frankoski; and his son, Phillip.

He is survived by his partner of 18 years, Rosana Mariz of Clearwater, Florida; his children, Tina Sioufi (Richard) of Montreal, Quebec, and Joseph Frankoski of Largo, Florida; the mother of his children, Jacquelyn Frankoski; and his adoring grandchildren, Isabella, Katherine and Cameron.

A special thank-you to Raymond's caregivers, Maria and Ula, and to his best friends, Rudy and Bonnie Spincic, for a lifetime of memories and friendship.

In keeping with Raymond's wishes, a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Saints Philip and James Cemetery in New Castle. Rev. Aaron Kriss will officiate.
