New Castle, PA - Robert Lee McHattie, age 76, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 14, 2025, at his residence.

Born July 29, 1949, in New Castle, he was the son of Norman and Helen (Swarney) McHattie.

On Dec. 30, 1972, he married his beloved wife of 52 years, Deborah Ellen (Gunther) McHattie. She survives at home.

Bob was a 1967 graduate of Ne-Ca-Hi. He earned his bachelor's degree from Slippery Rock University and his master's degree from Westminster College. Bob was a teacher employed at Baldwin-Whitehall School District and Union Area School District. He then made a career shift to work in retail, specifically men's clothing. Bob worked for Richmond Brothers and Main Street Clothiers for several years. He then was employed with S&K Menswear and Joseph A. Bank until his retirement. Among his varied interests, Bob enjoyed NASCAR, antique cars and reading. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by one son, Zane McHattie, and his wife, Andreena (Harriman) McHattie of Orlando, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Greg McHattie.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 2 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Lawrence County Humane Society, P.O. Box 62, New Castle, PA 16103.

Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
