Pittsburgh, PA - Rocco (Rocky) A. Romeo, 88, passed away peacefully Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Rocky was born in "Peanut," Pennsylvania (between Edinburg and Hillsville), on April 19, 1937, the son of John and Josephine Romeo.

Upon his retirement from GTE Data Services, he lived in New Castle, Pennsylvania, from 1996 to 2023.

Rocky is survived by Patricia (Pat) Romeo (née Topolski), his beloved wife of nearly 60 years.

In addition to his wife, Rocky is survived by his three sons, Ryan Romeo, Greg Romeo and Russell Romeo; his three daughters-in-law, Kelly Romeo, Ashley Comer and Mary Vernov; his nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Rocky was preceded in death by four brothers, Vincent (Jim), Joseph, Robert Sr. and Frank Romeo; and three sisters, Rose Frabotta, Mary E. Ross and Terri Morrone.

Rocky enjoyed the life he created with Pat and the time he spent with family and friends.

His faith was very important to him, serving as a Sunday school teacher at St. George's in Erie, Pennsylvania, and Eucharistic minister for St. Joseph's in New Castle.

He will be remembered for his funny, homemade birthday cards and personalized calendars.

Rocky loved his time working on his computer, solving crossword puzzles and reading crime novels. He loved his travels with Pat, particularly to Aruba and Italy. He was also an avid poker and pinochle player and loved his Steelers and Pirates.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, with a Blessing Service at 3 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St., New Castle, PA. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate.

A celebration of Rocky's life will be held after the service from 4 to 6 p.m. at Gallo's Italian Villa, 2420 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.
