Ronald Abraham Obituary

Ronald Abraham I, 78, of Jersey City, New Jersey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 11, 2020.

Born in New Castle, he resided in Jersey City for the past 55 years.

Ron was a certified public accountant who retired from Stevens Institute of Technology, but continued working until last year helping homeless men at a Rescue Mission in Newark, New Jersey.

He proudly served as the treasurer of New Durham Baptist Church in North Bergen, New Jersey, where he and his wife, Zoraida, faithfully congregated. Ron loved to exercise and adored his two late dogs, Misty and Sunshine. He was also a 2nd degree black belt in karate.

One of his greatest attributes was being a father figure and mentor to anyone in need. He loved his family above all else, and kept a list of them to ensure he prayed for each one individually.

Ron was a great storyteller, often reminisced of his service in the Army, loved doo wop and always went back home to visit his beloved New Castle. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Son of the late James and Madeline (Joseph) Abraham, he is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Zoraida (Estrada) Abraham; his three loving children, Jay Abraham, the Rev. Darren Abraham and wife, Kelly, and Ronald Abraham II and wife, Janet; four adored grandchildren, Jacob, Rebecca, Caleb and Ronald III; his beloved sister, Rita Bruno and husband, John Puckhaber; his beloved brother, John Abraham and wife, Darlene; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Private funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2020.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Please visit Ron's tribute page at www.brennacellinifuneralhomes.com.
