Rosemarie Nero, 90, of New Castle passed away the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at her residence.
Born in Akron, Ohio, on Oct. 1, 1927, Rosemarie was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna Biasella Granato.
Preceding her in death on Nov. 2, 1999, was her husband, Charles A. Nero, whom she married on Sept. 3, 1949.
Rosemarie was a member of St. Vitus Church.
In her earlier years, she had worked for Augustine's Pizza.
She enjoyed baking and cooking.
Rosemarie cherished all the times she spent surrounded by her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two children, Rev. Richard C. Nero, D.D., and his wife, Darlene, and Linda Blashak, both of New Castle; her grandchildren, Amanda Saylor and her husband, James, and Jason McGuire; and her two great-grandchildren, Madison Saylor and James Richard Saylor.
In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemarie is preceded in death by her brother, Frank Granato; and her son-in-law, Ken Blashak.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday for St. Vitus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Father Frank Almade.
Burial will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
