Poland, Ohio, OH - Rosetta A. (West) Herbert-Colao, born Feb. 3, 1937, in Crider's Corners (Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania) on her family's farm, died Saturday, June 28, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

She was born to the late Abraham and Dorthy West.

Mrs. Herbert-Colao was married Sept. 3, 2016, to Nicholas V. Calao of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, who survives. She was married to the late Robert W. Herbert of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, for 42 years.

Rosetta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. She was a long-serving member of the church choir, a Sunday school teacher, church council, Women's Circle Group, ELCA and several other various committees and fundraising events.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.

She also worked at Calgon Corp. (NALCO) and Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania.

She enjoyed serving God, her community and loving family. She was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. She enjoyed bowling and gardening, and was known for her three-berry pie.

She is survived by her three daughters and three sons-in-law, Renee and Nicholas Gonatas of Austintown, Ohio, Roberta and Robert Hill of Boardman, Ohio, and Rebecca and Michael Rouda of Butler, Pennsylvania; sister, Ruth Cortez; brothers, Gary West and Boyd and Brenda West; and three granddaughters, Alexandra Hill of Clearwater, Florida, Morgan Hill of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, and Katherine Gonatas of Warren, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son who died in infancy; sisters, Mary Ann Weisz, Dorthy Jean Swick, Edna Brown and Louis Peoples; and brother, Thomas West.

Visitation is planned for 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor David Saylor. The service will be livestreamed on the church's Facebook page.

Arrangements are being handled by Turner-Hyde Funeral Cremation Services, 500 6th St., Ellwood City, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellwood City, Pennsylvania; Alzheimer Association Greater Pittsburgh Chapter; or the American Heart Association.
