Sadie Allay, 87, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Thursday, March 3, 2016, at her son’s residence in New Jersey. Born on March 10, 1928, in Safita, Syria, she was a daughter of the late Abdulrahman and Maria Mustapha Ahmed. On Nov. 11, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Camil Allay, and the two spent more than 45 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on May 3, 1993. Sadie was a loving homemaker, who dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a member of the El-Fityet Allaween Syrian Association Ladies Auxiliary. She was known for baking Syrian bread and opening her home to everyone. Sadie is survived by her children, Michael Allay and his wife, Mona, of New Castle, Julia Allay of New Castle, Joseph Allay of New Castle, Janet Molnar and her husband, Joseph, of Sandy Lake, Pennsylvania, Cynthia DuBrock and her husband, Calvin, of State College, Pennsylvania, Marilyn Allay of Hershey, Alice Allay of Harriman, New York, and Jimmy Allay and his wife, Vicky, of Cape May Court House, New Jersey; her brothers, Ahmed and Hassan, both of Syria; her sister, Ramzea of Syria; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Abraham Allay, and several brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Services will be conducted at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Valley View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Sadie’s honor to the donor’s favorite charity.
