New Castle, PA - Samuel V. Trivilino, 70, of New Castle passed away the evening of Dec. 16, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born in New Castle on July 11, 1955, Sammy was the son of the late Samuel V. Trivilino, Sr. and Teresa Maciarello Trivilino.

After graduating from New Castle High School, Sammy went on to earn his master's degree at Youngstown State University. In the early years, Sammy had worked for Adelphia Cable as director of cable in the classroom for Adelphia Communications. He then worked as a substitute teacher for the Ellwood City School District. Sammy was also a former partner with Pointe Grille Restaurant.

Sammy was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church, where he served as a lector. He had also served as a former member of the New Castle School Board and New Castle Area Transit Authority. Sammy was currently on the board of the New Castle Sanitation Authority.

An avid sports enthusiast, especially with baseball. Sammy was an umpire from 1974 until his death. He umpired high school baseball, North County baseball and summer college leagues. Sam's umpiring career took him to work games all over Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida. He was, without question, the most popular umpire in all those places as players, fans, and managers simply referred to him as "The Bull."

Sammy is survived by his special friend, Trish Evanoski, his cousins and many, many friends all over Lawrence County.

In addition to his parents, Sammy was preceded in death by his half-sister, Sherry Trivilino.

Visitation will be on Sunday 2 to 5 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Family and friends will meet on Monday at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
