Sandra Lu Moore, 64, of New Castle went home to be with her Lord and Savior at Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver on Friday, Dec. 25, 2020.

She was born in New Castle on April 27, 1956, to James Alfred Moore and Harriet Joan Saffel Moore.

Sandra graduated from Laurel High School in 1974, and the Jameson School of Nursing in New Castle in 1977.

She was a faithful and dedicated nurse, who enjoyed helping others.

She was a member of the Jameson Nursing School Alumni and enjoyed their regular gatherings.

She was a member of the Harlansburg Presbyterian Church.

She was a member and past president of the Liberty Grange.

She loved to travel. Her hobbies including collecting stamps and bells, recycling cards, and making hats and rugs.

Survivors include three sisters, Pamela A. (Jeffrey) Shaw, Sharon L. Royle and Cathy L. (Vincent) Wise, all of New Castle; two nieces, Amanda L. Porterfield and Kiley J. Altman; three nephews, Eric L. and Stephen J. Shaw and Jeffrey J. Royle; three great-nieces; and five great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Brandon R. Moore.

A private funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.

Interment will follow at Unity Baptist Cemetery in Harlansburg.
