Wampum - Sara L. (Paswell) Fernandez, 65, of Wampum Road, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at her residence in Wampum, Pennsylvania.
She was born Oct. 7, 1960, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Ross and Majorie (Dougal) Paswell.
Sara worked as a cook for Golden Hill Nursing Home and Starwood Restaurant.
She loved the outdoors, especially hiking and taking nature walks with her dog, Sam.
She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth R. Bixler and twin sisters, Misty B. Hoover and Dawn L. Vitale and her husband, Chris, all of New Castle; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; two brothers, Art and Jamie Paswell; and five sisters, Emily DeNome, Lisa Kulinski, Lynn Jones, Viola Seaburn and Minnie Courtney.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
