Sara Mae "Sally" Alborn Obituary

Sara Mae "Sally" Alborn, 100, formerly of Moffatt Road, passed away the morning of December 6, 2016, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.

Born May 4, 1916, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Alexander Harnish and Ora Myrtle Douglass Cameron.

Sally was preceded in death on May 16, 1996, by her husband, Harold E. Alborn.

She was a graduate of Harlansburg High School and worked at the lunch counter at the former New Castle Drug Store. She later was a cook at B&B Charcoal Grill.

She was an active member of Neshannock Presbyterian Church, where she attended the Dorcas Society and the Missionary Society. She was also a board member of Wimodausis.

Surviving are two daughters, Joann Marshall of Mansfield, Ohio, and Betty Alborn of New Castle; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Milton, Harold and Home Cameron, and one sister, Ora Sickafuse.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place on Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Stringer officiating.

Burial will be in Neshannock U.P. Cemetery.
