Shirley Mae Wagner Obituary

Pulaski - Shirley Mae Wagner of North Valley Road, Pulaski, Pennsylvania, passed home to Glory at Butler Memorial Hospital on Nov. 1, 2025. Shirley was 72 years old.

She was born April 29, 1953, in Grove City, Pennsylvania, to the late Shurd Joseph and Hester Mae Adams Knight.

She married Walter Charles "Bunk" Wagner on Nov. 27, 1971, who survives at home.

In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by three children, S. Joe (Dena) Wagner of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania, Melissa Sue Wagner (Michael Montgomery) of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, and Mary JoAnne (Andrew) Rood of Sandyville, West Virginia; two sisters, Patricia Nemson and Geraldine Knight; three brothers, Leonard, David and Dennis Knight; 10 grandchildren, Taylor, Jade, Wyatt, Cassie, Cody, Corianne, Cooper, Dominic, Jake and Mazie; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who complete the family.

Shirley, or better known as Grammie, was a 1971 graduate of Sharon High School.

Shirley believed in, and taught the value of, hard work and raised her children to follow suit.

Ultimately, she lived her life giving to the those around her. Shirley was the person who always, without fail, was there for everyone as a daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, but most importantly as a wife, as a mother and as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren. Giving to her family was, without a doubt, her greatest desire and blessing in this life.

If you sat down and talked with Shirley for any length of time, you would soon realize that her greatest accomplishment was being Grammie. Nothing made her light up more than the topic of her grandchildren. She absolutely adored the opportunity to spoil and love on her precious grandbabies.

There was no shortage of Amazon and Walmart deliveries on the porch at Grammie's house, but giving gifts was just one small way she showed her love. Grammie's real desire was to make sure that you were safe and had everything that you needed. No one in Shirley's life went without, even if it meant she had to sacrifice to make it happen. The immense and heavy loss is felt by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 2025, at The Smith Funeral Home 3126 Main St., West Middlesex, PA.
