Susan Marie McElravy, 67, of Amber Drive, Slippery Rock, Scott Township, Lawrence County, passed away on Thursday afternoon, June 21, 2018, at UPMC Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Butler, Pa., on April 9, 1951, to Charles (Chad) and Marie (Mary) Sziszurok Aldinger, she married William Paul "Bill" McElravy on June 3, 1972.
Susan was a graduate of Karns City High School and Jameson School of Nursing. She earned degrees at Slippery Rock University and Case Western University.
She was of the Lutheran faith and attended the East Brook ECO Presbyterian Church.
Susan worked in the Coronary Care Unit of UPMC Jameson and was a nursing instructor at various colleges. She left a lasting impression on her students. Susan enjoyed crafts and cooking. She was a veracious reader and an excellent seamstress. She loved animals, especially her canine friend, Kimba.
Surviving are her husband Bill of the residence; her mother, Mary Aldinger of Butler; a sister, Kathy Seeman and husband Terry of Cranberry Township; a sister-in-law, Shelley Meshanko; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Sharon) McElravy; her aunt, Genevieve Gall; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, from 2 until 6 p.m. and on Monday, June 25, 2018 from 9 a.m. until the funeral service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jason Schepp, pastor of the East Brook ECO Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Jeff Miller, nephew of the deceased and minister of the Harvest Bible Chapel in Pittsburgh, officiating.
Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County.
