Sylvester "Butchy" Ambrosini, 62, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of May 4, 2021, at his residence.

Born on Aug. 19, 1958, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Nicholas F. Ambrosini Sr. His mother, Caroline Izzo Ambrosini, survives at home.

Butchy had worked as a registered nurse for various UPMC Hospitals until he retired. Upon retirement he became the primary caregiver for his mother.

Butchy was a member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Joseph the Worker site.

He enjoyed the outdoors, going fishing and golfing. He was an avid sports fan.

A loving son, brother and uncle, Butchy's greatest joy was the time he spent with family and neighbors, and especially his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, Butchy is survived by two brothers, Nicholas F. Ambrosini Jr. and Joe Ambrosini (Amy); three sisters, Gina Curry (Levis), Phyllis Lamb (Randy), and Carol Wesner (Ken); several nieces and nephews; and one great-nephew.

In addition to his father, Butchy was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Ambrosini.

A Private Blessing Service will be held at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. Father Anthony Sciarappa will officiate.

Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
