Thomas J. Bevan Obituary

Thomas J. Bevan, 90, of New Castle and Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018.

Born July 5, 1928, in New Castle, Thomas was a son of the late Thomas J. Bevan and Margaret (Haney) Bevan.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, the former Doris E. Quigley Bevan, who died in 2014; brothers, James and Daniel; and sister, Patricia Criswell.

He was a devoted member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, St. Mary Church.

Tom worked for Kraft Foods and Gardan Manufacturing for many years, only recently giving in to retirement.

Thomas was known as "T-MAN" among friends, colleagues and cronies, as well as the "Go To Guy" for a golf game at New Castle Country Club or Spanish Wells Country Club in Florida.

His quick wit, storytelling and zest for life will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Tom is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Bevan Jr. of Fort Myers , Florida, and Frank Bevan of Bonita Springs, Florida; his daughter, Kathy (Tom) Meehan of Erie; his granddaughter, Amber (Phil) Fulgenzi of California; his great-grandchildren, Harper and Beckham; his granddaughter, Annie (Leo) Eder of Holly Springs, North Carolina; his sister, Mary Jo (Don) Hanna of Ravenna, Ohio; his brother, John (Barb) Bevan of Ravenna, Ohio; his brothers-in-law, Bill (Barb) Quigley, of New Castle, and Tom Criswell; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road.

A procession will leave the funeral home at 9 a.m. Saturday for St. Mary Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Michael Peck.

Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
