New Castle, PA - Timothy J. Cwynar, 70, of 19 Cecil Ave., New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Nov. 30, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Tim was born Oct. 25, 1955, in New Castle. He was son of the late Walter C. and Dorothy M. (Spiker) Cwynar.

Tim was married to the former Elizabeth M. Derekos. They were married for 48 years. She survives at home.

Mr. Cwynar was a graduate of Union High School, class of 1974.

Mr. Cwynar worked for 17 years as a vending route manager with Den-Vend Inc. He retired after 23 years of service as a laborer with the Blair Strip Steel Company in New Castle.

Tim started straight out of high school and was a member for 51 years with the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Cwynar was also a member of Union Township Lions Club.

He enjoyed fishing with his wife and family. Tim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughter.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Tim is survived by his daughter, Amanda J. (Matthew) Decker of East Grand Forks, Minnesota; brother, Dan (Bunni) Cwynar of Middleburg, Florida; and his granddaughter, "Pappy's pride and joy," Katherine May Decker of East Grand Forks, Minnesota.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Joseph R. Cwynar.

Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.

A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow visitation in the funeral home Friday evening. Chaplain Les Shannon of the Union VFD will officiate. Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
