Bessemer, PA - Vilma J. Donofrio, 99, of Bessemer, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully the evening of June, 28, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Vilma was born Oct. 27, 1926, in West Ashford, Connecticut, to the late Arpad and Ethel Denes Moricz.

She married her beloved husband, Charles Donofrio, on Jan. 27, 1945. He preceded her in death Feb. 17, 2015.

Vilma was a devoted homemaker and mother who loved caring for her family, baking cookies at the holidays and following her son's sports and coaching careers. She enjoyed watching all sports -- the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins -- but most of all, she was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Vilma was a member of the former Christ the King Parish, now Holy Spirit Parish, and the Christian Mothers Group.

Most of all, she loved her family and cherished talking to her sons daily.

Vilma is survived by her three sons, Charles R. Donofrio (Shere), Archie J. Donofrio (Kathy) and Timothy P. Donofrio (Troy); six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Vilma was preceded in death by her brother, Archie Moricz; and three sisters, Ida Bua, Olga Raymond and Emma Jarrett.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 3000 Wilmington Road. A Blessing Service will immediately follow at 4 p.m. officiated by Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish. Interment will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery in Hillsville, Pennsylvania.
