Virginia L. Adamo Obituary

Virginia L. Adamo, 81, of Union Township passed away the morning of Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born in New Castle on Jan. 4, 1935, Virginia was a daughter of the late Stanley Sr. and Severa Cora Sonski Kielar. She is survived by her loving husband of more than 59 years, Richard A. Adamo, whom she married on July 21, 1956. She was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. In her earlier years, Virginia worked as a custodian for Union School District, until eventually retiring from Jameson Hospital, where she worked in the housekeeping department. Virginia enjoyed doing needlepoint and was known for being a wonderful cook. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished the times she spent surrounded by her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard S. Adamo and his wife, Karen, of New Castle, and Kimberly Conn and her husband, Marlin, of Vero Beach, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Cassandra Adamo of New Castle; her sister, Helen Hardisky of New Castle; her two grandchildren, Kenneth Adamo and his wife, Carrie, and Matthew Adamo;and her great-grandchild, Elliott Adamo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth J. Adamo; and her brother, Stanley J. Kielar. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday for St. Mary’s Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
