Plainfield, Indiana - William Lawrence "Larry" Davis, 76, of Avon, Indiana, passed away May 1, 2026 at The Gathering Together.

He was born Jan. 5, 1950, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to the late Dorothy Jayne (Fehl) and William Frank Davis.

Larry was a 1967 graduate of Neshannock High School in New Castle.

He married Kathryn A. King on Sept. 1, 1972, in Sacramento, California.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Davis had a passion for aviation. He was a certified aircraft mechanic and an engineer. Larry retired from Rolls-Royce after several years.

His hobbies also revolved around airplanes, both building and flying them.

In his spare time, he practiced target shooting, was an avid reader, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kathryn A. Davis; son, Jon Davis, both of Avon; and brother, Ronald (Marilyn) Davis of Jackson, Mich.

Funeral services were held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 4, 2026, at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, Plainfield, Indiana. Burial with full military honors will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at Castleview Memorial Gardens, New Castle, Pennsylvania.
