New Castle, PA - William L. Dicks, 82, of 1529 Patterson Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of Oct. 28, 2025, with his family by his side.
William was born Dec. 25, 1942, in New Castle. He was the son of the late G. Lester and Norma (Patterson) Dicks.
William married the former Patricia Wilson. They were married July 3, 1964 and spent 62 years together. She survives at home.
Mr. Dicks was of the Protestant faith.
He was a graduate of Laurel High School, class of 1961.
William was a veteran of the United States Army, earning the rank of E-5, and serving from 1961 to 1963 in Co. E 1st BG, 87th Infantry, and 2nd Infantry Division.
Mr. Dicks retired after 25 years of service in the machine maintenance department of Penn Power.
William was a member of the Coachman club, the PAHA-Pennsylvania Horseman club and Christ United Church.
Mr. Dicks enjoyed going hunting, bowling and playing golf. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Patricia, William is survived by two children, DuWayne W. Dicks of Slippery Rock and Lisa A. (David) Jones of New Castle; five grandchildren, Lydia, Vanessa, Noah, Alec and Paige; one great-grandson, Jase; and brother, Robert (Irene) Dicks of Portersville, Pennsylvania.
William was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Mildred Emery, Opal Stitt; and Jean Stewart; and a brother, Raymond Dicks.
Following his wishes, a private family service was held at Rich Hill Cemetery.
