New Castle, PA - William 'Bill' Howard Houk, age 73, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away the afternoon of June 13, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Aug. 18, 1952, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Elmer and Helen (Kaufman) Houk.

On Aug. 2, 1975, he married his beloved wife of 50 years, Susan Wallace. Mrs. Houk survives at home.

Bill was a graduate of Laurel High School. He worked as a custodian, employed by the Laurel School District for 36 years, taking great pride and dedication to his work. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting grass, fishing and hunting. He was an avid collector of Grinch memorabilia, which reflected his fun-loving personality. He was a Trustee and faithful member of Evangel Community Church.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his children, son, Daniel Houk of Pittsburgh, and daughter Heather Houk of New Castle; one sister, Debra Wily-Pharr of New Castle; and his cherished furry companions — Betsy, Molly, Muffin and JoJo.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer, and brother-in-law, John Pharr.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, at 5 p.m., at Evangel Community Church, 1530 Harlansburg Rd, New Castle, Pennsylvania, 16101, with Pastor Harry E. Edenhofer officiating.
