New Castle, PA - William J. "Barney" Lastoria, 79, of New Castle passed away the evening of May 25, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Barney was born Sept. 13, 1946, in New Castle to the late William and Agatha Berry Lastoria.

He married his beloved wife, Georgine, on Oct. 10, 1981. She survives at home.

Barney worked in construction for many years.

He served in the Army Reserves and was a lifetime member of the Duca Degli Abbruzi (The Dukes Club) in Croton, where he spent countless hours with friends and family.

Most importantly, Barney loved his family deeply. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Barney is survived by his children, Billie Ann Small (Cory), Gina Burris (Jim) and George Frank (Abby); a sister, Alice Womer; and grandchildren, Jacob Burris, Ava and June Frank, Jaxon Pappas and Alivia Small; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patty Toscano and Mary Blakely.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m.Friday for a Mass of Christian burial at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church, at 10:30 a.m. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate.
