William F. Porada Sr., 89, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Dec. 20, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
William was born June 25, 1935, in New Castle. He was the son of the late William B. and Helen (Rychek) Porada. William married the former Mary Ruth Bigiey. They were married for 55 years before she preceded him in death Oct. 31, 2009. Mr. Porada was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1953. He was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Mr. Porada retired after 30 years of service as a member of the tool crew at the former Rockwell International Corporation here in New Castle. William enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He also enjoyed taking trips to local casinos. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
William is survived by his two daughters, Jackie Porada, and Cindy (Alan) Campbell, both of New Castle; his son, Robert (Mary) Porada, of Ellwood City; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife Mary Ruth, William was preceded in death by his son, William F. Porada.
Following in his wishes, there are no calling hours or services scheduled at this time. Mr. Porada will be buried in Briar Hill Cemetery next to his wife.
