Brookfield, Ohio, Ohio - Cpl. Wilson "Pete" James Carlisle of Brookfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully in early morning hours of April 28, 2025.

Pete was born Aug. 4, 1924, to Franklin and Hazel (Zedaker) Carlisle in New Bedford, Pennsylvania.

He was a 1943 graduate of Union High School, a World War II veteran, husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Betty" Elizabeth Brown of Pulaski.

He is survived by his two sons, James (Margaret) of Burien, Washington, and David (Jane) of Brookfield, Ohio; grandchildren; stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

After Betty passed in 2001, Pete reconnected with Virginia "Blue Eyes" Fluent. They became dear companions for 12 years until her death in 2015.

Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Paul Carlisle, Loma Linda, California.

A memorial service will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at New Bedford Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
